I and my family recently enjoyed our 3-night stay at one of the best resorts in Mae Hong Son. Our deluxe cottage was comfortable, sparkling, & roomy. It contained a large king-size bed & bathroom with shower with a delightful seating area in front of a large window. The bathroom was quite exclusive, as it had an open shower and an open screened-in area that presented a neat sight and peaceful jingles at night. I was really grateful for having a mini-bar in the room as well. The grounds of the resort were scrupulously groomed with a profusion of flowers. My only complaint about the resort was the 2 rollaway beds kept underneath it and in simple view. That seemed a bit “tawdry” in an otherwise immaculate setting. There is free of charge internet available in the lobby. The breakfast buffet was sufficient with cooked-to-order eggs obtainable upon request.

We had dinner both nights at their restaurant, which provided a delightful open-air, spacious dining experience. The resort was not packed, so we were kept in first-class style. Not all the employees spoke English, and the young woman at the welcome desk seemed to resist with hers as well. We moreover took advantage of their out door pool after a complete day of activities. On the whole, I think the resort where we had stayed is of great value. I would recommend two activities while in Mae Hong Son: get up in the early hours one morning to go into the city to see the local monks come for alms and rent a four wheel ATV in city for a fun-filled, guided ride in the town that includes a trip to a waterfall, if desired, one can book this at the resort.
Let these amazing hotels be the place for you to relax and restore your spirit! There are some resorts with charming bungalows on the banks of the river in a pleasing valley. They offer a break away from the pressures of the commerce world in a soothing garden setting. Taking in to consideration the nightlife, Mae Hong Son has very little apart from the odd karaoke joint and few open air restaurants providing alcohol and playing live music.

It was then that the Thais were primary united as a country that marked the Thai as separate people. But in reality, the history of the land at present defined by the boundaries of Thailand stretches back much auxiliary to the pre-historic era. Many discoveries uncovered and excavated in few parts of Thailand give sturdy evidence that highly civilized people once populated the province.

The conventional Isaan homes were made of raised wooden post building, so that animals, creeping insects could not penetrate the houses. The open area underneath the houses also served as a cool day workplace. There are actually many houses like this nowadays, dotted around the town. Many houses in towns are constructed in two phases. The bottom division is the shop to work or trade things and the first floor comprises of the bedrooms. Thai houses will not have a kitchen or furniture like we do. People will be seated and have food on the floor. There are many other diverse fashions of houses too, together with: the inside of these houses are very much similar to houses in England. There is much furniture, dining room, bedrooms, shower room, a kitchen, sitting room, and flushing toilets. Because of the jungle declination and the annihilation of various species, the whole of the mountainous regions and natural wealth in Mae Hong Son have been confirmed as national protectorates. Examples contain Mae Yuam River and Huai Nam Dang National Park, Salawin Forest and Valley, Mae Surin Forest and Waterfall. The most excellent time to visit Mae Hong Son is for the period of the cool misty periods between November and December, when “Buatong” – the famous yellow flower of Mae Hong Son blooms and presents its visitors with the spectacle of an astonishing colored carpet layering.

After the evaporation of the Ban Chiang civilization, the area was predisposed by an assortment of cultures from India in the 3rd century, the Mons sandwiched between the 6th and 10th centuries, and the Khmers who constructed the wondrous Angkor Wat and left their inheritance in the form of plentiful stone sanctuaries scattered across the Thai kingdom. However it was not until the Sukhothai kingdom was recognized that the Thai people were combined. Thailand currently has a populace of about 61.5 million according to 1998 estimate.

There is also no shower or bath as we know it, instead there is a big ‘tub’ for the water and a jug. Thai people bathe by throwing water over themselves. Most toilets are squat toilets although the western style toilets are becoming more available. Near the squat toilets there is a container filled with water and a cup or a hose pipe. These replace the flush of water. In most of houses, including slum housing, a TV, fridge and radio can be found.

The guest house where I and my family stayed during our last visit to Mae Hong Son is on the rim of the lake and subsequent to the temples. It is beautiful in the morning. You can see the lake, temples with mountain in the background. It is much shut to downtown, merely a few minutes walk. We went to the morning market for breakfast both of the days that we had stayed. Mae Hong Son has no communal transportation, so it is good to stay close to downtown. The rooms where we had stayed had 2 beds and a restroom with shower. It is a little complicated to make a hot shower work. The room contained a glass window, but it is screen close, not meant to be open. We had to put on the air conditioner in the room for air circulation. The possessor said it is hot most of the time, so populace always require air conditioner anyway. The room was sparkling and kind of appealing. They had a fine size of garden in the middle of the guest house. The garden was extremely nice. We had a small picnic in the garden while dinner. They were very responsive like most people we came across in Mae Hon Son. They lent their dishes for our picnic and gave us some recommendation for sight seeing.
